Provoked
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's performance in Jag Mundhra's 'Provoked' was much appreciated. Her character was based on real life - Kiranjit Ahluwalia who murdered her abusive husband.
The Mistress of Spices
Aishwarya played a shopkeeper, a seller of spices, residing in San Francisco Bay Area. The film was based on a novel penned by Indian author Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.
Bride and Prejudice
This film directed by Gurinder Chadha was a contemporary take on Jane Austen's classic novel 'Pride and Prejudice'. Aishwarya played a young independent woman whose mother is too eager to get her five daughters married off into rich and affluent families.
Pink Panther 2
In this hilarious comedy, Ash shared screen space with Hollywood veteran Steve Martin. She plays a criminology expert who turns out to be a thief in disguise.
The Last Legion
Ash had almost a blink and miss role in this film. The movie was poorly received by the public and critics alike. She played a warrior named Mira.
Aishwarya on Oprah Winfrey's show
Ash has taken the hot seat on celebrity host Oprah Winfrey's talk show twice. In fact, on the second occasion when she appeared on the show with hubby Abhishek. She has also appeared on the 'Late Show with David Letterman'.

Ash attended the Academy Awards functions along with her husband Abhishek Bachchan.
Bachchan bahu at Cannes
Ash has been a regular at the Cannes Film Festival since 2002. In 2003, she became the first Indian actress to be a jury member at the festival.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - An international face
In 2005, she became the global brand ambassador of a cosmetic brand, along with Andie Macdowell, Eva Longoria and Penelope Cruz. That same year, a special tulip in Netherland was named after her.
