Hollywood debut for southern hottie Laxmi Rai?

 

Cameron was impressed with Rai

Director James Cameron reportedly walked into the sets of a Malayalam film shoot in Abu Dhabi and expressed his desire to work with southern star Lakshmi Rai. Cameron was in Dubai for a media summit, when he landed up on location to watch Priyadarshan shoot a Malayalam film. 

Cameron walked into the sets of Priyadarshan%u2019s Malayalam film 'Arabiyum, Ottakavum, P Madhavan Nairum' (The Arab, The Camel and P Madhavan Nair). He wanted to work with Lakshmi Rai. 

Rai was quoted as saying she will be leaving for California soon to work with Cameron. 

The 'Avatar' director spent a good two hours with Priyadarshan and his leading man Mohanlal. 

Lakshmi Rai mainly appears in Malayalam and Tamil films. 

She rose to fame with 'Annan Thambi' (2008) and '2 Harihar Nagar' (2009), establishing herself as one of the leading actresses in the Malayalam film industry.

She made her acting debut in 2005 in the Tamil film 'Karka Kasadara.' 

She appeared in a number of unsuccessful Tamil films, including 'Kundakka Mandakka' (2005), 'Dharmapuri' (2006), and 'Nenjai Thodu' (2007). 

She made her debut in Malayalam in 2007, starring in 'Rock & Roll' opposite Mohanlal, which did not perform well at the box office. 

In 2008, she began working in more serious films such as the drama film 'Velli Thirai', in which she played herself, and the action thriller 'Dhaam Dhoom'.
